Rocket Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga that originates from Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. It was developed in San Francisco in the ’80s by Larry Schultz, an American yoga teacher who studied under the famous Ashtanga teacher, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Schultz lived and practiced in Mysore, India, where he learned Ashtanga techniques. The main idea behind Rocket Yoga is accessibility and accelerated progress in practice. Schultz noticed that traditional Ashtanga Yoga was difficult for many people to grasp due to its rigorous asana sequences and the need to master one level before moving on to the next. Therefore, he developed a new system of practice that allowed for greater freedom and flexibility in choosing poses and adapting sequences to the needs and abilities of each participant. This style of yoga introduces elements of creativity and fun, encouraging practitioners to experiment with different pose variations. You can read more about Rocket Yoga on the website
